Sekhmet is a lioness warrior goddess, protector of the innocent and punisher of the wicked. She is the daughter of the sun God Ra, and is the oldest daughter of Ra. In the Divine triad of Memphis she was the wife of Ptah and mother of Nefertum. She is identified with the goddesses Wadjet, Hathor and Bast. Sekhmet is depicted as a lioness, or as a woman with the head of a lioness, who carries the sun disk. Her powerful aura in the Egyptian history made her the epitome of power and energy and all this gave a good reason to name Dahabiya after her.
