Day 3: Highlights of Siwa .
After breakfast,You will be accompanied by your guide to visit Alexander the Great Temple is also known as the Temple of the Oracle.It is a spectacular temple, The temple of Amun, built during the twenty-sixth Dynasty, the temple and its oracle flourished into Greek and Roman times, It is believed that Alexander the Great wished to consult the Siwan oracle to seek confirmation that he was the son of Zeus. The Greek god of gods, when he and his entourage arrived, A manifestation of the oracle was paraded through the city accompanied eighty priests, After his visit to the oracle, whenever his image appeared on the coin, Alexander was shown with horns of the ram, the symbol of Amun, the god of gods in Egypt.
Then proceed to visit the temple of Umm Ubaydah,Just 200 m further from the Temple of the Oracle, the temple was erected by the pharaoh Nectanebo of the 40th Dynasty, Then Proceed to Visit.
After that you will visit Shali “the old city of Siwa”, It was founded in the 13th century .It was built on a hill inside a protective wall originally breached by a single gate; to be a fortress in the middle of Siwa city to protect the city from the tribal attacks.Then the Mountainof the Dead “Gabal al Maouta” which is located 1 km outside the city of Siwa, the mountain is full of ancient tombs and has a calcareous soil and the tombs take the shape of a hive of a bee carved in the stone. There are some interesting tombs worth to be visited like Niperpathot, Si-Amon, Mesu Isis, and the Crocodile tomb.
End your day by visiting Fatnas island,Fatnas is a Small island in Birket Siwa, you can reach it by walk or by bike, It is a wonderful place to sit and enjoy the sunset, You will get a spectacular view of the lake with Gebel Bayda and Hamra forming the backdrop to the west, A walk in the Garden show a variety of trees including Banana, dates, and olive
After finishing this lovely tour, you will be transferred back to your hotel for overnight in Siwa
