Mero Dahabiya Nile Cruise Itinerary

6 Days –Esna/Aswan Every Monday

Esna

Day 01: Monday -Esna

When you arrive at Luxor airport / Luxor railway station, you will be greeted by your tour manager from Egypt Key Tours. You will be happy to know that YOU’RE IN SAFE HANDS! Then your Egyptologist guide will escort you on a tour of the bustling and vibrant city Esna (which was previously known as Nubt). The main attraction of this little city is the main temple which sits 9 meters below street level – quite interesting right?!

Meals Include:

  • Lunch and Dinner
El-Kab-and-Edfu

Day 02: Tuesday – El Kab and Edfu

Thereafter, you will be gently sailed en-route to El Kab on the East bank of the Nile, which was at some time the capital of Upper Egypt and destination to the temple of Nekhbet. A carriage takes you to visit Edfu, where you will find not only its Greco Roman Temple dedicated to God Horus because this among Egypt’s best-preserved temples that features 400 ft long ramp built by Alexander Farnese.

Meals Include:

  • Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner
Nile-River

Day 03: Wednesday – A Day Devoted to the Nile River

For the day, you will board a boat of your choice on the Nile and enjoy going up and down the river, and stop at a variety of landmarks along the way. In the early afternoon, you will dock your boat; and have some free time to do whatever you’ve been wanting to do. Later in the evening, if you choose, you can enjoy strolling down into the desert on a trail lined with moss and hieroglyphs that creates a magical atmosphere as it leads into dark holes carved out of sandstone.

Meals Include:

  • Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner
Gebel-Silsileh

Day 04: Thurday – Gebel Silsileh

Here, the Nile is at its narrowest. Considering that many large Nile cruisers are not allowed to stop here due to the volume of traffic on this particular section of the river, you’ll usually find it quite peaceful and quiet during your visit – something which makes this a fascinating site indeed! After visiting Horemheb’s Temple and walking through the rolling sandstone quarries where ancient Egyptians produced stone for many of their most famous historical sites, you will be delighted by a stop at a picturesque café, situated along the river bank, to indulge in tea and shisha (water pipe) before continuing on to your lunch and swimming spot.

Meals Include:

  • Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner
Kom Ombo

Day 05: Friday - Visit to Kom Ombo

After a beautiful night, we’ll take you through the morning to the Kom Ombo town and temple. The temple was first built during the Ptolemaic period as an extension to an older structure, so it’s no wonder that it’s in one of the most beautiful locations. If nothing else, visitors are sure to enjoy all their time spent at this serene place devoted to Sobek, the Crocodile-Headed God. After exploring all there is to see within its depths and admiring the magnificent Egyptian reptiles within its confines in particular, we recommend you visit Egypt’s new Crocodile Museum if you’re infatuated about mummified crocodiles!
